About Us

Joe Warne

Joe is currently completing a BSc in Sports Science and Health. He is the high performance and strength and conditioning coach of the DCU Athletics Academy as well as DCU Sigerson GAA. He also works with athletics clubs around Dublin and several prominent Irish athletes. Joe is a health and performance author for Irish Runner magazine, and has experience working as a high performance coach and sports scientist with athletes from multiple sporting backgrounds including golf, cycling, triathlon/duathlon, rugby, GAA, table tennis and soccer

His own sporting background involves competing as an international 800m athlete, with a keen interest in adventure sports. 


Special Interests: Performance physiology, recovery strategies, Athletics, Outdoor sports, Strength and Conditioning.

Declan Monaghan 

Declan is currently completing his final year studies in the BSc. of Athletic Therapy and Training at Dublin City University. This 4 four degree specialises in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injury received in the sports setting. 

His experience thus far boasts positions with DCU Rugby, DCU GAA Academy (Fresher and Sigerson squads), Tennis Ireland, and Bohemians soccer club, currently holding chief ATT position within the college Athletics Academy medical team. He has completed extensive work within the Dublin GAA scene having worked with Kilmacud Crokes, St. Vincent’s and Ballymun Kickhams GAA squads, currently working within the Clontarf Senior GAA squad.

Declan has experience in the United States at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, working with the college Volleyball and American football medical teams. He also works extensively within the elite athlete-centred PACE Sports Management  Athletics team, based in London.

Special Interests: Athletics, running injuries particularly those of the lower limb, tissue healing, functional rehabilitation and also the biomechanics of injury.

 

Owen Kelly

Owen Kelly has been a qualified Table Tennis Coach for over 25 years. He is currently a full time ITTA Level 3 Table Tennis Coach and Tutor working  in a number of schools in West Cork, Ireland and is the Head Coach for
Munster Special Olympics. He also holds various qualifications in a number of other sports including athletics, cricket, GAA and Soccer as well as SAQ. Owen specialises in working with kids aged 5 - 18yrs.

Des Earls

Des is undertaking a BSc in Sports Science and Health, to be completed in 2010.


He currently works with DCU Sport, the Dublin Inter-county Gaelic Football team and has experience coaching at all levels, ages and abilities. He has competed at national levels in basketball, Gaelic games and now concentrates on middle distance running, competing at 800 - 5000 m. Des has more than a passing interest in numerous sports including athletics, cycling, triathlon, Gaelic games and rugby (to name a few).

Special Interests: Applied physiology; including recovery strategies, the use of multiple sprint training in endurance training and multi day ultra endurance events.


Stephen Cleary

Stephen is a sports science and health graduate with a more focused interest in exercise physiology, anatomy and bio-mechanics. His critical yet open minded approach to the current literature provides a more unbiased viewpoint, which has benefited many of those he has worked with.

Stephen is an avid mountain runner, ocean kayak instructor, mountaineer and adventure sports enthusiast.
